Completion

When work is completed

When all building work has been completed it is the responsibility of the owner/builder to notify the council so that we can carry out a final inspection and issue a Code Compliance Certificate. There is an “Application for Code Compliance Certificate” including with your consent documents. This needs to be signed, and returned to Council along with any applicable energy works certificate or producer statements required.

A final inspection of the work will be carried out to ensure it complies with the New Zealand Building Code, and the approved building consent, plans and specifications.

Any additional costs incurred by Council additional to that paid at the time of issuing the building consent (ie extra inspections required, amended plans processed) are payable prior to the issue of the Code Compliance Certificate.
