The Long Term Plan (LTP) provides long term focus for the decisions and activities of Council. It is a ten year plan that explains how Council intends to contribute to our community well-being, the financial impact of these activities and how progress will be monitored.
The Long Term Plan is reviewed and published every three years. In the two intervening years the Long Term Plan is reviewed and an Annual Plan is published as a separate document.
Community consultation is a key element of the Long Term Plan process as it is the main opportunity for our local people to have their say in Council decision-making. We accept written submissions from members of the community and provide the opportunity for submitters to address Council directly during hearing sessions. Once the Long Term Plan is adopted appropriate community consultation is required to make any significant changes in terms of funding and policies.
Council’s most recent Long Term Plan is for the ten year period ending 30 June 2019 and has been examined by the Council's external auditor on behalf of the Auditor General.
A CD version of the Annual Report can be made available to you by contacting Council’s office on 03 788 9111. Council is aware of the significant cost of producing each hard copy. It considers that by making the document primarily available electronically, it can reduce costs, as well as being more environmentally considerate.
