Buller 2050

The Buller 2050 project has been created to develop a strategic 50 year plan for the Buller District that oultines a future ideal state and the action plans for achieving that future. We all know that the extractive industries will not last forever especially with Holcim already planning to leave Buller so we need to plan now how we will grow and prosper well into the future without these main industries we currently rely on.

Council is eager to get as much community involvment for this project as possible, especially with our youth as they will be the ones most effected. Council will be seeking input from the community soon, keep an eye on the Council Communtiy Newsletter for more information.

For more details of the plans for Buller 2050 please see the document below, this is the report that went to Council on 24th March 2010.
