The Annual Plan explains what Council is proposing to achieve in the year ahead, how much it will cost, and how progress will be monitored.
The plan provides the opportunity to review progress towards Council’s long term objectives, take account of any new issues and consider whether the Long Term Plan still reflects the strategic direction Council is intending to take. Any significant deviations to the Long Term Plan in terms of funding and policy need to be agreed through community consultation.
Council also consults with the community before it finalises the Annual Plan. We accept written submissions from members of the community and provide the opportunity for submitters to address Council directly during hearing sessions.
Council adopted its 2010/11 Annual Plan on 30 June 2010. This plan explains variations from the Council's Long Term Plan 2009-19 and provides both financial and service provision information across all activities intended to be carried out by the Council for the 2010/11 year. This plan has been reviewed by the Council's external auditor on behalf of the Auditor General.
A CD version of the Annual Report can be made available to you by contacting Council’s office on 03 788 9111. Council is aware of the significant cost of producing each hard copy. It considers that by making the document primarily available electronically, it can reduce costs, as well as being more environmentally considerate.
